Committees...

Each committee needs a chairperson or two co-chairs.  The chair or co-chairs are responsible for sending reports to the board (monthly or when the committee is active).  The chair works as a liaison between themselves and the general membership to come up with new ideas, answer questions and clarify issues.

Hospitality:

  • Makes new member packets available at meetings

  • Sends sympathy cards to members in need

Social:
  • Prepares raffle items for each meeting
  • Plans for Provider Day Out in May
  • Summer & Fall outings (if wanted) & Christmas Party
  • Makes items available to sell at Conferences
Conference:
  • Keeps board informed of upcoming conferences
  • Keeps membership informed of upcoming conferences
  • Coordinates fundraising table at conferences
  • Makes items to sell at conferences
Millard Days:
  • Attends committee meetings
  • Organize Family Fun & Safety Day activities
  • Get volunteers to help with tables and activities
Legislative:
  • Keep members informed of current legislation
  • Coordinates letter and phone calls to support or oppose
  • Keeps members informed of any food program changes
  • Keep members informed to Title XX changes
Professional:
  • Promote training opportunities
  • MAP Provider of the Year nominations and presentation
  • Week of the Young Child
  • Provider Recognition Day

No one person is expected to complete all of these duties.  Whoever heads up the committee is encouraged to call others in our group to see if they may wish to participate.  This will give everyone an opportunity to volunteer and increase their chances of receiving funding for conferences, continuing education or scholarships.
